I led the Etika Mural project, a 40-foot artwork honoring Desmond ‘Etika’ Amofah, unveiled on November 6, 2019, in Bushwick. I spearheaded fundraising, raising $11,315.25 for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). My roles included designing the website, directing the project, creating web graphics and merchandise designs, managing the Shopify store, and overseeing the Kickstarter campaign. I ensured proper fund allocation and produced a documentary capturing the mural’s creation, enriching the tribute’s narrative and promoting mental health awareness.

To support the Etika Mural project and raise funds for charity, Abe Hunter creatively designed and launched a range of merchandise. This included a variety of apparel such as hats, beanies, T-shirts, sweaters, and hoodies, each crafted to resonate with the community and amplify the project’s visibility. Beyond apparel, Abe took the initiative to run a successful Kickstarter campaign specifically for the production of hard enamel pins. He meticulously managed every aspect of this campaign—from the initial design of the pins to overseeing their production and shipping from China to the US. Abe’s hands-on approach ensured that all Kickstarter pledges were fulfilled flawlessly, with over 100 pins distributed to backers both domestically and internationally. This comprehensive management not only fueled the project’s financial goals but also ensured operational excellence, reflecting his capability to lead complex projects with precision and creativity.
